Cupped wind
generators

What is a cupped wind generator?

Well, it’s not a wind turbine! Unlike traditional wind turbines these don’t have blades. So it’s cupped, which means you don’t need planned permission.

As it’s vertical axis (perpendicular to the ground) there is no shuttering, no swept distance and noise or vibration from it.

It’s only 500mm wide and 1200mm high, so there is no visual impact.

Where
can they
be fitted?

We are currently developing brackets so it can be roof, ground or wall mounted.

What we found with a lot of houses, is that there is turbulence down the side of your house, almost like a wind tunnel. You could mount it down the side of your house or on the corner, thus getting both variable speeds.

What is their
power output?

We are still doing our tests, but, the expectation is that it be able to charge your batteries, whether it’s a trickle charge or large charge.

In winter the Cupped Wind Generator works perfectly in parallel with your solar panels, and it will generate power night and day

What is
the best location?

We will be renting out anemometers to test the wind speed, and with the data logger linked to your mobile phone or computer and it will record the data for the best location. We have set parameters to work within and very quickly we are able to see where the most suitable location of your property is.

Unique
properties

It can work with work with any solar panels, any batteries and any inverter, so there is no need to swap anything over if these things already.

It has low startup wind speeds and it’s geared for single phase houses, meaning it would ignite the PMG with the PNGs of the motor to start making electricity at low wind speed, they will be generating energy even at low speeds

How soon
will it be available?
