Why insulate under your heating

Insulation can reduce downward heat loss. Therm-All is a 6mm product for suitable floating-floor constructions; tiled floors need an appropriate rigid insulating or backer base. The effect on warm-up and energy use depends on the subfloor, existing insulation, floor finish and controls. Include the insulation in the total finished floor height.

Therm-All adds 6mm. Include the Ribbon, any other specified layers and the floor finish when checking the complete height and thresholds.

Do I need insulation under underfloor heating?

Select insulation appropriate to the subfloor and complete flooring system. Therm-All provides thermal and acoustic insulation in a 6mm layer for suitable floating-floor constructions. Confirm the moisture-control requirements; do not assume a soft insulation product is suitable below tiles.

How much insulation do I need?

Measure the full area requiring insulation, separately from the heated mat area. Each roll covers 10m²; the Room Designer rounds the full measured insulation area up to whole rolls, without an extra cutting-waste allowance.

Does it add much height?

Therm-All adds 6mm. Include the mat, underlay or rigid layers and floor finish when calculating the total height and checking thresholds.
